Measuring Parental Involvement in Dual-Earner Qatari Families

Abstract Parental involvement in dual-earner families is a subject that has been widely studied the literature Western contexts. Less attention, however, allocated to challenges encounter raising children Arab Gulf states. This paper study aims address following questions: To what extent are involved their children’s lives? What gender differences parental involvement? employed 2017 survey data of working Qatari males and females measure engagement family time childcare. The results highlighted factors, work characteristics social supports as key factors determining degree involvement. also showed scores, which comprise several including demands spent with children.
